Don started out as a drover at the age of 15. Early days on the road were spent droving horses through western N.S.W. outback towns, breaking them in and running them through the sales. Times were tough and Don soon built a reputation as a horseman of note and this was reflected in the prices his horses were bringing at the sale yards.

Don was granted his trainers licence in 1993 and his first starter was his first winner. Don has since gone on to train metro winners at Randwick, Rosehill, Canterbury, Warwick Farm, Flemington and Moonee Valley along with countless provincial and country winners.

Don's experience in handling horses came to the fore whilst owning Warwick Farm Horse Transport from 1998 to 2004 when given the responsibility of transporting horses like Danehill, Lonhro, Champagne, Tie The Knot, Referral, Octagonal ect for the leading trainers in Sydney.

Don's a family man whose been married for 35 years to Colleen and has been breaking in and riding horses for as long as he can remember.
